Do employees who resign get severance in Asia?

Generally not. Resigning employees in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand aren’t owed statutory severance unless their contract says otherwise. Vietnam is an exception: employees with at least 12 months of service who end their contract lawfully may receive a severance allowance.
