Is severance pay mandatory in Singapore?

Answer

No. Singapore has no statutory severance pay. Retrenchment benefits follow the employment contract or collective agreement, or are negotiated. MOM’s prevailing norm is 2 weeks to 1 month’s salary per year of service for employees with at least 2 years of service.
