Question

What happens if an employee makes a discrimination claim under the WFA?

Answer

Resolution follows three mandatory tiers: internal grievance handling, mediation, and — if both fail — formal adjudication. Claims up to SGD 250,000 go to the Employment Claims Tribunals (ECT), which holds all proceedings in private. Claims above SGD 250,000 proceed to the High Court. Filing deadlines are 1 month for pre- or end-of-employment claims and 6 months for in-employment claims.
