Employment Hero is a well-regarded Australian HR and payroll platform with a strong Singapore presence. Omni HR is built natively for Asia. This guide compares the two on Singapore statutory coverage, platform structure, real cost of a full stack, and support, using Employment Hero's own documentation and verified reviews.
Omni HR vs Employment Hero: The Short Answer
Employment Hero is a well-known, Australian-built HR and payroll platform with genuine strengths. It is easy to use, reviewers rate it highly for that, and it covers HR, payroll and recruitment under one login. For a Singapore team, the two things worth checking closely before signing are how it handles Foreign Worker Levy, and how HR and Payroll actually work as separate products underneath.
Omni HR is built natively for Singapore and the rest of Asia, with CPF, SDL, IRAS and FWL handled in one platform alongside payroll for Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines. This guide compares the two on Singapore statutory coverage, how each platform is structured, the real cost of a full HR-plus-payroll stack, and support, using Employment Hero's own help centre and documentation.
Singapore Statutory Coverage
Every Singapore payroll platform needs to handle four things: CPF contributions, the Skills Development Levy (SDL), IRAS tax filing, and the Foreign Worker Levy (FWL) for work permit and S Pass holders.

SDL is worth being fair about. Employment Hero's own help centre documents it as a fully automated, per pay run calculation with its own exemption flag and GL account. They simply do not market it. FWL is different. Across their Singapore site and help centre, we could not find it described as a product capability anywhere. For a Singapore team with any work permit or S Pass holders, that is worth confirming directly with Employment Hero before you sign, since a manual FWL process is easy to miss until the first payroll run.
Two Products Wearing One Name
Employment Hero HR and Employment Hero Payroll are two separate products: two plan ladders, two per-employee prices, two monthly minimums, two subscriptions, two cancellation flows. Their own help centre publishes a guide to which data lives where. Personal details, pay rate attributes and leave entitlements sit in the HR platform, while pay categories, deductions and pay run settings sit in Payroll.
The pattern is consistent, not cherry-picked. Everything on the HR side of Employment Hero rates 4.3 or higher on GetApp. Everything on the Payroll side, including tax compliance (the exact thing a Singapore payroll buyer is shopping for), rates 3.6 to 3.8. Leave tracking, which has to cross the seam between the two, sits in between. One G2 reviewer described it directly: "Logging leave through EH work app does not appear in EH Payroll backend. Have to approve leave in multiple areas."
Omni HR runs HR and payroll as one system. Leave entitlements, pay runs and statutory filing all sit on the same platform, so there is no seam for a leave balance to get stuck behind.
The Real Cost of a Full Stack
Employment Hero's pricing looks simple until you need both products. A full HR plus payroll stack in Singapore requires one plan from each ladder.
Employment Hero's own Singapore pricing page lists each product on its own ladder. HR Platinum at SGD 10 plus Payroll Premium at SGD 8 gives the SGD 18 combination.

One detail worth knowing before you sign: Employment Hero bills on "active employees," which their own payroll billing guide defines as anyone included in a finalised pay run, an approved timesheet, an approved expense claim, an approved leave request, or a published shift, even if that action is later reversed. Charges are based on the greater of your plan minimum or actual billable employees that month. It is published and transparent, but it is the kind of detail that shows up at invoice time rather than during evaluation.
Omni HR starts at USD 3 per employee per month for Core HR, with add-on modules from USD 1 each and no published setup fee, on a single platform and a single price.
Support
The honest comparison here is about channel and escalation path, not timezone. Employment Hero does publish Southeast Asia business hours in its help centre (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm Malaysia Time, the same zone as Singapore), so this is not a timezone gap. The real differences, all from their own help centre and pricing pages, are:
- No phone support on any plan
- Hero AI is the first point of contact before a human is reached
- Their support inbox is stated to be unmonitored
- No published SLA or response time commitment
- The Payroll plan tables carry no support row at all
Two Employment Hero customers left low ratings on G2 in 2026 and pointed at support. A reviewer in New Zealand rated it 1.5 out of 5 and wrote that "the support to date is vastly inadequate." A verified user in telecommunications rated it 2 out of 5 and wrote that implementation support "was practically non-existent through their appointed project support team." Both reviews are shown as posted.

Omni HR provides same-day responses in Asia time zones through WhatsApp, Slack and email. This reflects current response times, not a contractual SLA.
AI Assistants
Employment Hero's Hero AI and Recruitment Agent are available to Singapore customers, gated by plan tier (HR Standard and above) and by metered monthly credits. Omni HR's Mino and its MCP connector are available on the Growth plan and above regardless of company size, so access is not tied to how many employees you have.
What Employment Hero Does Well
To be fair to them: Employment Hero is genuinely easy to use, and reviewers say so consistently. It is the single most-mentioned strength across 495 G2 reviews tagging ease of use, with 95% of reviewers giving four or five stars. It offers real all-in-one convenience for SME buyers who want HR, payroll and recruitment under one login, and its Employer of Record footprint spans 180 countries, a genuine advantage for companies with people outside Asia.

Frequently Asked Questions
We could not find FWL described as a product capability anywhere on Employment Hero's Singapore site or help centre, as checked on 21 August 2026. If you have work permit or S Pass holders, confirm directly with Employment Hero before signing. Omni HR handles FWL natively alongside CPF, SDL and IRAS.
Two. Employment Hero HR and Employment Hero Payroll are separate products with separate plan ladders, prices and subscriptions, per their own help centre. Omni HR runs HR and payroll as one platform.
Published combinations range from SGD 11 to SGD 18 per employee per month depending on tier, with combined monthly minimums from SGD 220 to SGD 360, since you need one plan from each product ladder. Omni HR starts at USD 3 per employee per month for Core HR, with add-on modules from USD 1.
No. Support is routed through Hero AI first, with no phone option and no published SLA, per their help centre and pricing pages. Omni HR offers same-day responses in Asia time zones via WhatsApp, Slack and email.
Yes. Employment Hero's help centre documents SDL as a fully automated per pay run calculation. They simply do not feature it on marketing pages.
Employment Hero's Hero AI and Recruitment Agent are gated by plan tier and monthly credit limits. Omni HR's Mino and MCP connector are available on the Growth plan and above regardless of company size.
Employment Hero publishes localised payroll for Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Canada, with no localised payroll pages found for the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia or Vietnam. Omni HR runs native payroll in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines, plus managed payroll across 20+ Asian countries.
If ease of use and a broad global EOR footprint matter most, Employment Hero is a strong, well-reviewed choice. If native FWL handling, one platform instead of two, and same-day Asia-timezone support matter more, Omni HR is built for that.
